TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM AN EVENT

New WAVE players and their families will be responsible for their transportation to all tournaments, local and out of state, unless explicitly notified to the contrary. This includes transportation from the hotel to the playing venue(s).

• AIR TRAVEL: For tournaments requiring air travel, NO AIRLINE TICKETS WILL BE PURCHASED BY THE CLUB FOR PLAYER OR PARENT TRAVEL. It is our experience that parents are able to purchase the tickets at a better rate through online deals and using miles than attempting to book group travel.
• GROUND TRAVEL: Players may carpool to tournaments as necessary and need to be at the given destination at the time stipulated by the coach. No individual member of New WAVE’s staff can provide transportation to any event.

Exceptions
It is possible that we may provide team vans or coach bus transportation to certain events (i.e. Florida).  Players and their families will be made aware of such arrangements in advance of the trip.

TRAVEL POLICY

For any overnight event in the Travel Program, the following policy is in effect:

1. Parents will transport their daughters to and from the host city.
2. Players will stay with their parents at hotel New WAVE or a tournament chooses.  (Note:  New WAVE will secure a room block at a desginated hotel and players will be REQUIRED to secure a room there.)
3. Players must arrive at the playing venue at the time designated by the coach each day.  Players will not be released by their coach until play is completed and officiating duties are fulfilled.  Players may NOT leave the venue for any reason.
4. Players are responsible for providing their own food throughout the event.  We ask that players/parents are conscious of their nutrition and eating “right” prior to and throughout the event.  In some cases, players will be requested to attend team meals which we STRONGLY encourage players and parents to support.
5. At the completion of the tournament, after the team’s final match has been played, officiating duties fulfilled and having been released by the head coach, a player may leave with their parents or guardians.  Please consult with the coach or travel coordinator to understand what times to plan your departure.

WHAT TO BRING

1. Players should be sure to bring their Molten Volleyball to each event.
2. Players should bring all uniforms/equipment to each event.
3. Players are responsible for all their meals during the course of the tournament.

MISCELLANEOUS TRAVEL NOTES

1. Please adhere to any and all food policies at the host facilities. “No Food” in the building means exactly that.  Failure to comply could mean a fine or removal from the tournament.
2. Please follow all rules and requests set forth by the Coach and/or Team Mom. These include but are not limited to: room curfew, lights out, morning meeting times, team meals, team meetings, after tournament responsibilities, etc.
3. We are proud of New WAVE and you, the player, are our best representation of our club. We ask that you follow these parameters when traveling to a overnight tournament whether it is at the hotel, playing venue or any other team activity:
   1. First and foremost, you are, as noted above, our New WAVE representative, so any negative behavior is a reflection on our (your) club.
   2. In reverse though, any positive behavior is a reflection on our (your) club.
4. We appreciate when our teams support each other.  Incentives will be offered to teams to stay once play is completed to watch and cheer on their clubmates.  This is NOT required, but is STRONGLY encouraged.
