New Wave opened its brand new location in the Summer of 2019. We are located in Darien, IL. The facility includes 4 sport courts and 2 sand courts (run by Progression Volleyball) along with an athletic training space run by MFC.
New WAVE was established in 2005 by committed Westmont High School coaches who sought to expose its players to competitive volleyball. Immediate response from other local athletes urged New WAVE to welcome any interested athletes. In New WAVE's inaugural season, two teams were fielded: 13s and 14s. Both teams enjoyed success on the court throughout the season. In each season following, New WAVE has seen growth at every age, extending from 10s to 18s. The 2022-23 season saw 30+ teams compete throughout the Great Lakes region and beyond. The growth of New WAVE reflects the community’s growing interest and the satisfaction with the training provided by the club.
New WAVE is committed to providing quality physical and psychological training that ultimately will prepare each athlete for future success.
New WAVE is designed to foster fundamental volleyball skill development for young players and provide ample opportunities for experienced players to hone those skills. New WAVE is dedicated to giving ALL members the chance to improve their skills associated with this exciting and demanding sport. No one understands better than New WAVE that the youth level is an important stage of athletic development for volleyball players.
New WAVE is vested in each athlete’s personal development as well. This athletic experience can enhance social development, contribute to mental and physical health, and teach values of teamwork, responsibility, self- discipline, and self-motivation.
Although the fundamental skills of volleyball are being taught at New WAVE, we understand the importance of balance and good ole fashion fun in youth sports. Every year members of New WAVE participate in activities: themed practices, team building activities, opportunities to see college volleyball games and team end of year parties.
New WAVE is a personable club that will not look at its athletes as a group of teams, but rather, as a collection of individuals with different abilities, talents and skills to offer. New WAVE strives to build positive relationships with the volleyball community, parents and its athletes.
